Speak you mind become a host

Seriously, have you ever thought about hosting your own radio show?  If it has ever crossed your mind; keep reading for an exciting opportunity at #Talktainmentradio to host your own radio show.

What kind of people should consider using radio to reach their audiences?  Doctors, lawyers, real estate agents, or financial advisors — use radio to highlight their knowledge, increase their name recognition, build up their local celebrity, and gain new clients.  It’s a great way to  promote books, seminars, or other sideline business; like a LIVE walking talking ad.

Others use radio to entertain or to promulgate a particular point of view — political, religious, or otherwise their own idea. This non-commercial type of show is often supported by advertising. Hosts can even make their radio show into a business of its own, buying time slots for a fixed price, and selling ads themselves directly to businesses. A brand new revenue stream to support your cause and platform.

OK, let’s give you a few things to think about while you are thinking this thing over.

Checklist for pondering becoming the host of your own radio show:

___  Do you have a business or service to provide?

___  Do you have a message with a mission you want to share?

___  What topics would you want to discuss on your show?

A few examples:

  • Interviews with recent news-makers or local politicians
  • News, especially very recent events
  • Controversial issues (the economy, crime, global warming, education, etc.)
  • Interviews with book authors (who need publicity)
  • Recent articles from the newspaper, magazines, or online publications
  • Business/Finance/Legal
  • Celebrity News
  • Recent events in TV shows or movies
  • Ridiculous things that really happened
  • Music
  • Relationships
  • Health and fitness advice
  • Contests with listeners

___  Is this going to be a full-time, part-time, or hobby for you?

___  Do you like to research different subjects?

___  If you could interview anybody who would it be?

___  Who would be your support for getting it going?

___  When would you like to get started?

While I know many things are dancing in your head right now about all of the possibilities; let’s start you out with the application process by giving you more details.

5 Pumpkin Flavored Foods You Must Try

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

Yes, it is that time of year where there is Pumpkin everything. From candy, to coffee, to pies, we are in the prime of Pumpkin Season. Take a look at these 5 pumpkin flavored treats that you must try.

1. Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice There’s no better way to have pumpkin than with chocolate, right? This treat has a golden outside with a pumpkin spice flavored filling wrapped in a special orange and brown foil. This is a limited edition treat and is available at your local grocery or convenient store while supplies last.

2. Jet-Puffed Pumpkin Spice Marshmallows Marshmallows are amazing! Apparently they are even better with a hint of pumpkin. This fluffy treat is available at your local grocery store and is quite the catch so get yours before it is too late!

3. Pumpkin Cheesecakes I am a huge fan of cheesecake but I’m not quite sure how I feel about pumpkin cheesecake. This treat can be made multiple ways and there are tons of recipes on Pinterest about how to perfect this dish. Check it out and send me over a piece!

4. Pumpkin Pancakes I could eat pancakes at any hour of the day. But pumpkin pancakes? Hm. I have never had the pleasure of indulging in this seasonal cuisine but I have a feeling that I could possibly become obsessed. You can’t go wrong with Pinterest when it comes to looking up recipes. Add some sausage to your pumpkin pancakes and I’ll see you in the morning!

5. Pumpkin Spice Latte You can’t have pumpkin season without the pumpkin spice latte. The limited editions drinks are located at nearly every coffee shop you can think of in Columbus – local shops and the franchises. Enjoy this drink hot or cold!

At this point I’m not sure if there is a possibility that you can have too much pumpkin! What’s your favorite pumpkin treat? Comment and let us know!

Celebrate Halloween in Columbus

Thursday, October 24th, 2013

‘Tis the season to be spooked! Halloween always brings out the creative and the fear in people every time it comes around. Whether you like enjoying it peacefully or completely freaking yourself out, Columbus has plenty going on to tailor to your needs.

HighBall Halloween VI

Grab your best costume and get ready to rip the runway at the HighBall Halloween event. In its sixth year, the event has had to expand by going from one day, to two days of shutting down High Street and filling it with over 20,000 people. Starting Friday, October 25 through Saturday, October 26 there will be competitions, dancing in the street, stage shows, and more. This is an event you do not want to miss!

North Market Halloween Party

This is a free event for the kiddos to enjoy face painting, crafts, and a safe indoor trick-or-treat! The party starts Sunday, October 27 from noon-3pm at the North Market and admission is free. Enjoy a relaxed Sunday afternoon full of candy and fun!

Sips & Spirits

If you like to keep it classy on Halloween, step into the paranormal with a glass of wine at Camelot Cellars Winery. Get your future ready by psychics, recreate yourself with a Halloween inspired make-over, and try Camelot Cellars Vampire Vino wine (only available through Halloween). This event will take place Wednesday, October 30 from 7-9pm and admission into this event is free.

Dead Acres | Haunted Hoochie

For all of my thrill seekers, get your kicks at the legendary Haunted Hoochie at Dead Acres. This is an intense experience for real thrill seekers only. There’s blood, gore, guts, and terror every where you turn at Dead Acres. You think you can handle one of the top 13 haunted houses in America? Get your ticket now and prepare to enjoy (if that’s possible) a great scare.

How do you celebrate Halloween? Comment and let us know!

8 Must-Haves for Fall

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013

Fall is my favorite season of the year because it allows me to wear layers, but not be too hot or too cold. Here are some key pieces that I believe every woman needs to remain comfortable and stylish in fall.

8 Must-Haves for Fall

  • Scarves are a must-have for fall! It’s amazing what adding a silk or polyester scarf to an outfit can do. Wearing a cute scarf can complete your fall look whether you’re going to class or going out. Forever 21 has some super cute scarves including this Southwestern Scarf that I have and love!
  • Leggings are probably the true reason we all love fall anyway right? Cute tunics and pair of leggings can go a long way. Forever 21 does have leggings for cheap but I find them not to be as great of quality as leggings from Macy’s. They’re more expensive, but you can pick up some cool ones like faux leather ones.
  • Denim jackets can quickly make your leggings and t-shirt look more fashionable. I have a really cool maternity denim jacket I snagged at the thrift store last fall that I use to complete a simple look. Since it is a maternity jacket, it’s baggy and a little long which gives a look similar to this denim jacket from Forever 21.
  • Stockings/Tights are a cheat to be able to still rock all of those body-con skirts and dresses you’ve worn all summer. And it allows you to recycle the ones you’ve worn out for a more day-time look. I prefer stockings with some print, like these Chevron Textured tights from Old Navy.
  • Crew necks have become my newest obsession. I recently snagged a few from the thrift store not too long along. I prefer crew necks that are sports related or give a worn look. If you’re looking for something more girly, Victoria’s Secret has a Supermodel Sweatshirt line filled with cute crew neck style clothing.
  • Combat boots have seemed to become timeless in fall. They give an edgy look that I love to throw in with just about everything. I have a pair from Target that are similar to these Mossimo Supply Co. combat boots.
  • Dark colored lipstick is something I want you to have if you have anything on this list. To know me is to know I have an odd obsession with lipstick and I have found that Rimmel London has the best lipstick for the best price. I have this Moisture Renew lipstick as well as a couple from Kate Moss’ line with Rimmel London.
  • Last, but certainly not least, the beauty in all that is fall are the Yoga Pants. Perfect for those lazy weekends – or lazy days in class. I found some cheap yoga pants by Danskin at Walmart and grabbed a couple pairs of them. Victoria’s Secret PINK also carries yoga pants.

Fall is the most wonderful time of the year and I would not be able to survive without my essential pieces to remain comfortable and stylish.

What are your fall must-haves? Comment and let us know!
